Protein combining or protein complementing is a process in which individual plant products that by themselves are deficient in one or more essential amino acids are combined with other plant products in order to provide all the essential amino acids for human life. While all individual plant foods provide at least trace amounts of each of the 20 amino acids, they often have an insufficient amount of some of the nine essential amino acids, making protein combining with multiple complementary foods necessary to obtain a diet with "complete protein". Consuming sufficient amounts of all nine essential amino acids is absolutely essential for human life. As all meats contain all amino acids in sufficient quantities, protein combining is only important for those who eat few to no meats in their regular diet. For those on a vegetarian or vegan diet, therefore, eating a variety of foods that each provide sufficient amounts of some of the essential amino acids is usually the only way to receive a full slate of the nine essential amino acids, since very few plant products provide a sufficient amount of all nine. However, in practice, it is so easy to achieve protein combining that most people do not need to consciously aim to reach a diet with complete protein. For instance, rice and beans, a staple combination throughout the world, combine to provide more than enough of all the essential amino acids just between the two of them.
=== Haymarket grows === From the autumn of 1964, Haymarket set out aggressively to acquire magazines, approaching them from the list in the media directory BRAD. They acquired small, modestly profitable magazines for tape recorder and camera, and camping and caravan, enthusiasts, and using a loan from BPC bought a series of leisure and medical publications for £250,000 from a Canadian publisher, in competition with Thomson Group. In 1965 Heseltine's businesses had a turnover of around £700,000 per annum, and employed around 50 staff. Although the Opportunities for Graduates series continued to generate profits, Town magazine continued to lose money, hampered by the cost of printing (much more expensive at that time than nowadays) and by Heseltine's reluctance, for political reasons, to include pictures of nude girls or cartoons disrespectful of the Royal Family. Haymarket launched a bid for the British Institute of Management's magazine The Manager, again in competition with Thomson Group, in late 1965. It was envisaged that Haymarket would take a 25% stake, as would the Financial Times and The Economist, of both of which Crowther was also chairman. ==== Anorexia as adaptation ==== Studies have hypothesized that disordered eating patterns may also arise secondary to starvation. The results of the Minnesota Starvation Experiment, for example, showed that normal controls will exhibit many of the same behavioral patterns associated with AN when subjected to starvation. Similarly, scientific experiments conducted using mice have suggested that other mammals exhibit these same behaviors, especially compulsive movement, when caloric restriction is induced, likely mediated by various changes in the neuroendocrine system. This has given further rise to the hypothesis that anorexia nervosa and other restrictive eating disorders may be an evolutionarily advantageous adaptive response to a perceived famine in the environment. Recent research has further expanded this perspective, showing how caloric restriction may be adaptive in volatile or uncertain environment - thus potentially explaining the association between an increased risk to develop anorexia nervosa and adverse childhood experiences.

== Diagnosis == On clinical examination, crackles are common, and more rarely, patients may have clubbing (<5% of cases). Laboratory findings are nonspecific but inflammatory markers such as the erythrocyte sedimentation rate or C-reactive protein and the lymphocyte count are frequently elevated. If the organizing pneumonia is secondary to a connective tissue disorder, then the associated laboratory values such as the anti-nuclear antibody, rheumatoid factor, anti-citrullinated protein antibodies, anti-dsDNA antibodies and other similar connective tissue associated antibodies are elevated. Pulmonary function testing in people with organizing pneumonia, either cryptogenic or due to secondary causes, shows a restrictive defect with a decrease in the gas absorptive capacity of the lungs (seen as a decrease in the diffusion capacity of carbon monoxide). Airflow obstruction is usually not seen on pulmonary function testing. Bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage is recommended in possible cases of organizing pneumonia to rule out infection and other causes of alveolar infiltrates. The bronchoalveolar lavage in organizing pneumonia shows a lymphocytic predominant inflammation of the alveoli with increases in neutrophils and eosinophils. Resolution of inflammatory cells in the bronchoalveolar lavage is usually delayed in organizing pneumonia, lagging behind clinical and radiographic improvement. Biopsy findings in patients with organizing pneumonia consist of loose connective tissue plugs involving the alveoli, alveolar ducts and bronchioles.
== Physical examination == The general appearance of patients may vary according to the experienced symptoms; the patient may be comfortable, or restless and in severe distress with an increased respiratory rate. A cool and pale skin is common and points to vasoconstriction. Some patients have low-grade fever (38–39 °C). Blood pressure may be elevated or decreased, and the pulse can become irregular. If heart failure ensues, elevated jugular venous pressure and hepatojugular reflux, or swelling of the legs due to peripheral edema may be found on inspection. Rarely, a cardiac bulge with a pace different from the pulse rhythm can be felt on precordial examination. Various abnormalities can be found on auscultation, such as a third and fourth heart sound, systolic murmurs, paradoxical splitting of the second heart sound, a pericardial friction rub and rales over the lung.

=== Blue Spoon Creamery Cafe === Culver's opened a new spinoff soup-sandwich-salad restaurant in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin in 2000, called Blue Spoon Creamery Cafe. The name came from the color of the spoons used at the Culver's fast food restaurants. A second store in Middleton, Wisconsin, was open for two years, but closed in August 2010. The Prairie du Sac location closed in May 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns.
